Korean brokerages lower entry costs as wrap-account fees surge
Wrap accounts are investment services managed by brokerages.
Four major Korean firms earned much more in fees from them this year than in the same period last year.
Brokerages are making some accounts easier to join, including one that starts with 500,000 won and allows monthly payments.
They are seeking more income from managing customers’ money as stock-trading revenue has weakened.
