BJP criticises planned CJP protest as leaders are reportedly detained
BJP MP Sambit Patra said the Cockroach Janata Party's planned protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi had failed.
The party had called the demonstration to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
It cited allegations of voter-list manipulation during a revision of electoral rolls and changes related to Form 6, used to register voters.
The party said three leaders who travelled from Mumbai were detained by Delhi Police after their plane landed in Delhi.
Police sources said the leaders were taken to different locations, and police personnel reportedly told them they lacked permission to hold the protest at Jantar Mantar.
Patra accused protesters of seeking to cause violence, but these were his claims.
