Engstler takes pole in wet Hockenheim qualifying as Preining starts third

Luca Engstler was fastest in a wet qualifying session at Hockenheim and earned his first DTM pole.

Thomas Preining, who leads the championship, will start third.

A win in the afternoon race would be enough for Preining to secure the title.

His rivals will need to make up ground, but wet conditions and changing tyre choices made qualifying difficult.
