Verstappen wins Singapore Grand Prix for the first time
Max Verstappen won the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay for the first time in his career.
The Red Bull driver held off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc at the start, then built a lead and finished 7.3 seconds ahead.
Verstappen had previously finished second in Singapore in 2018, 2024 and 2025.
Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes came third after Lewis Hamilton’s decision to stay out on old tyres during a virtual safety car period left him vulnerable late in the race.
Hamilton finished sixth, while Antonelli extended his championship lead over team-mate George Russell.
The result means Antonelli can clinch the championship at the next race, the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
Verstappen’s victory was his second consecutive grand prix win, following a mixed season for Red Bull.
