Verstappen wins Singapore Grand Prix for first time
Max Verstappen won the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay street circuit, leading from pole position to the finish.
It was his first win in Singapore and came on his 250th Formula 1 start.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second, and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli was third.
Antonelli remains the championship leader, 102 points ahead of teammate George Russell.
The result means Antonelli could mathematically secure his first title at the next race in Austin, depending on his result and Russell’s.
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finished fourth and fifth.
Piastri had to make an extra pit stop after a slow puncture, but passed Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton on the final lap.
Red Bull’s win was its second in a row and leaves the team seven points behind McLaren in the constructors’ standings for third place.
