Mexican bank customers claimed 16.1 billion pesos in first half of 2026

Bank customers in Mexico filed about as many complaints as in the same period last year, but the amount of money they claimed was higher.

Possible identity-theft complaints rose by 18.8% to 18,663.

Fraudsters are using methods such as fake messages, malicious QR codes and AI-made videos to trick people.

These scams can steal personal or banking details and lead to financial losses.
