Foreign visitors remain about 1% of Kangwon Land casino customers

Kangwon Land is trying to become a global resort, but very few of its casino visitors are from other countries.

Foreigners were 1.13% of visitors through Oct.

4, and their share has stayed below 2% for 22 years.

The resort says its distance from airports and limits on marketing make it harder to attract them.

A lawmaker says it needs a more effective plan so it does not depend so heavily on local customers.
