Kollam farmers call October 27 hartal over ESA draft village listings

The groups say the draft notification covers about 76,000 hectares across eight Kollam villages.

They fear the designation could affect residents’ homes and livelihoods.

They also accuse the State government of not consulting local farming groups before recommending exemptions for other villages.

The protest is meant to press both the State and Union governments to address their concerns.
