Delhi tightens security ahead of protest planned for Saturday

Delhi Police prepared for a protest planned at Jantar Mantar on Saturday by deploying security forces and restricting access to parts of the city.

Mobile internet was suspended nearby, and access to some metro stations was stopped.

Police said the protest request came too late and denied permission.

The party said police had known about the plan earlier and objected to needing government permission to protest.
