Karnataka IPS officer S. Ravi seeks voluntary retirement

Karnataka IPS officer S. Ravi has applied for voluntary retirement from his post as additional director general of the Karnataka State Reserve Police.

The 1998-batch officer submitted his application to the director general’s office, and Director General and Inspector General Saleem confirmed the move.

Ravi says he is leaving for personal reasons, according to the reports.

He has about six months remaining before his scheduled retirement.

He previously served as additional director general of the Intelligence Department before being transferred to the police reserve role.

Some accounts cite a disagreement with a senior officer as a possible reason, but this has not been confirmed.

The reports do not say whether his application has been approved.
