Daniel D'Alcantara and Mathias Hindal to play together in São Paulo

Trumpeters Daniel D'Alcantara and Mathias Hindal will perform together at JazzB in São Paulo on October 22.

Daniel is 52 and Mathias, his son, is 20; the concert brings together two generations of the same musical family.

Mathias is part of the family’s fifth generation of professional musicians, and began studying trumpet with his father and grandfather.

Their set will explore the history of jazz trumpet, featuring music by players including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard.

Pianist Edson Sant'anna, bassist Gustavo Fonseca and drummer Jonatas Sansão will also perform.

The concert connects jazz traditions with a younger musician’s perspective, as Mathias brings his generation’s approach to the music.

The performance is scheduled for October 22 at the São Paulo venue.
