Tamil Nadu says Karnataka has failed to meet Cauvery water orders

Tamil Nadu says Karnataka has not released enough Cauvery water under orders set by water authorities.

It says the shortfall is hurting farmers who depend on the river.

Tamil Nadu also says water stored in the Mettur reservoir is too low to support irrigation for long.

The dispute is about how much water Karnataka must send downstream and whether the orders are being enforced.
