Uttar Pradesh launches incentives for electronics component makers

Uttar Pradesh has introduced a policy to support companies that make specified electronic components in the state.

It was notified on September 4, 2025, and eligible capital spending from April 1, 2025, can count toward support.

The policy is intended to build local suppliers for products such as printed circuit boards, display modules and lithium-ion cells.

This matters because India’s electronics industry depends on imported components and production inputs.

Companies approved under the central government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme may receive matching support from the state.

Some eligible manufacturers outside that central scheme may qualify for a separate capital subsidy.

The policy is set to run until March 31, 2031, with applications handled through the state’s designated agency and, for central support, a separate central application.
