Mexico presents decree to protect children from harmful online content
Mexico’s government wants digital platforms to keep children and teenagers from seeing harmful content, including material promoting violence or self-harm.
The decree calls for tools to remove such content, report accounts and give parents supervision options.
It also asks platforms to use safer default settings and respond to authorities’ requests.
The president said the decree has no penalties, and the government plans further talks on future rules.
