New Zealand unveils special ODI jersey marking 100 years of sporting ties with India

New Zealand has unveiled a limited-edition cricket shirt for its five-match one-day international series against India, which starts November 4.

The shirt marks 100 years of sporting ties between the two countries.

It is called Kotahitanga, a word meaning unity, and was designed by Ben Thomason, Shiv Narandas and Jai Pancha.

Its artwork combines Māori patterns and lines with Indian motifs, including the lotus, an architectural pattern and the mandala.

New Zealand Cricket says the design honours the people who helped build the relationship and reflects the cultures of both countries.

The teams will first play a five-match T20 series in New Zealand from October 22, then meet in the ODIs.
