Teledyne FLIR unveils compact radar to detect and track drones

Teledyne FLIR Defense unveiled its Ranger R10-3DX counter-drone radar in Washington on October 13.

The compact system is designed to help military forces and other operators detect and track small unmanned aircraft and other targets.

The company says the radar uses artificial intelligence to classify targets, including drones, planes, birds, people and vehicles.

It can detect micro drones at distances of up to three kilometers, according to the company.

The radar is intended for uses including military protection, airports and border security.

It can be installed at fixed sites or mounted on mobile platforms.

The company says the system provides wide-area coverage and early warning as drone threats grow at key sites.
