Honda unveils CB250SS scrambler concept in China

Honda unveiled its CB250SS scrambler concept at the CIMA motorcycle trade show in Chongqing, China.

The 249cc bike has retro scrambler styling, but its 17-inch alloy wheels, road-focused tyres and short-travel suspension point to road riding rather than serious off-road use.

Honda describes the liquid-cooled engine as tuned for strong low-end torque and smooth power, but has not released power or torque figures.

The bike also has a round display with Honda RoadSync connectivity and an assist-and-slipper clutch, which can reduce the effort needed at the lever.

A production version is expected to reach China first, likely from spring 2027, though Honda has not confirmed a launch date.

The model is aimed at Generation Z riders, and Honda says “SS” stands for style and story, not Supersport.

Availability outside China remains unconfirmed, and the specific version shown is not expected to reach the UK; its prospects for India are also described as slim.
