Three companies have satellite communications licences in India, minister says

India has licensed three companies to offer satellite communications: Jio, OneWeb and Starlink.

Amazon Kuiper is still applying.

The companies cannot begin commercial service until spectrum pricing is set and they complete security checks.

The minister said this shows India is not limiting satellite service to one company.
