Sheinbaum plans meeting with US ambassador to discuss bilateral issues

Claudia Sheinbaum said a recent meeting with US Ambassador Ronald Johnson focused on US businesses and trade.

She plans to meet him and Mexico’s foreign secretary soon to discuss other issues.

Those include security and questions about US authorities’ involvement in a police academy in Querétaro.

The talks matter because Mexico and the United States are working together on border security and trade, while Mexico says its sovereignty must be respected.
