Vande Bharat Sleeper, Amrit Bharat trains receive strong NFR response
Some new trains in India are making people very happy.
They are called Vande Bharat Sleeper and Amrit Bharat trains.
These trains are modern, comfortable, and fast.
The Northeast Frontier Railway runs many of them.
People in the Northeast are using them a lot.
Some trains even sold more tickets than they have seats.
That is called having more than 100 percent occupancy.
One train from New Jalpaiguri to Nagercoil was 173 percent full.
The railway added fourteen pairs of trains this year.
It wants to connect the Northeast with the rest of India.
It says it will keep making train travel better for everyone.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) introduced 14 pairs of trains between January and July 2026, including one Vande Bharat Sleeper and eight Amrit Bharat pairs.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper between Kamakhya and Howrah recorded 103% occupancy (Train No. 27576) and 126% occupancy (Train No. 27575).
Amrit Bharat Train No. 20603 New Jalpaiguri–Nagercoil logged the highest occupancy at 173%, with its return service at 160%.
Other routes also saw strong demand: Kamakhya–Rohtak (138%), Gomti Nagar–Dibrugarh (144%), and SMVT Bengaluru–Alipurduar Jn. (151%).
NFR said the response reflects growing preference for modern, comfortable rail connectivity and committed to expanding advanced services.
