Delhi extends water bill late payment waiver till March 2027

The city of Delhi provides water to people through pipes.

Sometimes people do not pay their water bill on time, and extra money, called a late payment charge, gets added.

This extra amount can grow very big and become hard to pay.

The Delhi government made a special rule to help families.

If people pay the main amount they actually owe, the extra late charge is completely removed.

This special offer was going to end soon, but the government extended it for seven more months.

People now have until March 31, 2027, to pay their old bills.

The city wants to recover 6,000 crore rupees that people owe.

This helps families clear old bills and helps the water board get the money it needs.
