Thane Waives Residential Water Bill Penalties Through December 2026
Thane Municipal Corporation is giving some homeowners a special discount on old water bills.
The discount removes all penalties, administrative charges, and interest.
It will be available for four months, from September 1 to December 31, 2026.
People must pay all their old water dues at once to receive the waiver.
They must also pay the full water bill for the current financial year.
The offer is only for residential consumers, not businesses.
The mayor and municipal commissioner asked residents to use the offer.
If people do not pay by the deadline, their water supply may be disconnected starting January 1, 2027.
Thane Municipal Corporation announced a 100% waiver on administrative charges, penalties, and interest for pending domestic water bills.
The amnesty scheme will run from September 1 through December 31, 2026.
Eligible residential consumers must pay all outstanding dues and the full 2026–27 current-year bill in one lump sum.
The waiver applies to residential property owners, but not commercial water consumers.
Unpaid accounts may have water connections disconnected beginning January 1, 2027.
