AICTE Launches Skills and Innovation Initiatives for Students
AICTE Partners With Nemetschek India To Upskill Over 25,000 Students For Future Jobs · NDTV

AICTE has announced two programmes to help students and researchers.

One programme is being run with Nemetschek India.

It will create special learning centres at 10 colleges.

More than 25,000 students will learn skills for jobs in construction and engineering.

They will also receive training in Building Information Modelling.

The second programme will support research that can lead to useful inventions and businesses.

It plans to fund 150 PhD fellowships over five years.

Fellows will receive monthly financial support that increases during the later years.

AICTE and Nemetschek India Private Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
Centres of Excellence
AEC Centres of Excellence will be established in 10 AICTE-affiliated institutions.
Students targeted
More than 25,000 Civil Engineering and related-discipline students will be upskilled and reskilled.
Training format
The programme includes a three-credit skilling programme and 50-hour Building Information Modelling training.
Doctoral programme
The AICTE Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellowship Programme has a proposed Rs 245 crore outlay over five years.
Expected fellowships
The doctoral programme is expected to support 150 PhD fellowships.
Fellowship amounts
Fellows will receive Rs 60,000 per month in the first three years and Rs 70,000 per month in the fourth and fifth years, plus applicable HRA.
