Police allege that some medicines were fake, while others were taken from hospitals or government supplies.

The group allegedly sold the medicines to patients through a network operating in several cities.

Officers recovered hundreds of cancer-drug vials and thousands of other medicine units.

The medicines were estimated to be worth about Rs 9 crore.

Police also seized about Rs 50 lakh, records and packaging materials.

Investigators say fake labels and batch numbers were used to make some medicines look genuine.

The investigation is continuing, including questions about how government medicines were diverted.
