Dr G. Jagadeesh Takes Additional Charge as SVIMS Director
Dr G. Jagadeesh is taking temporary charge of an important medical institute in Tirupati.
The institute is called Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, or SVIMS.
He will serve as its director and vice-chancellor for now.
The previous director, Dr R.V. Kumar, completed his three-year term.
Officials asked Dr Kumar to hand over his responsibilities to Dr Jagadeesh.
Dr Jagadeesh will continue in the role until a regular director is appointed or new orders are issued.
He has worked at BIRRD Trust Hospital for more than 20 years.
He has performed over 1.83 lakh surgeries and helped provide free treatment through medical camps.
Dr G. Jagadeesh has been given full additional charge of SVIMS director-cum-vice-chancellor.
The appointment followed the completion of Dr R.V. Kumar’s three-year tenure.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams issued the orders and relieved Dr Kumar on Monday afternoon.
Dr Jagadeesh will serve until further orders or a regular appointment is made.
He has led BIRRD Trust Hospital for over two decades and performed more than 1.83 lakh surgeries.
