Godavari River Reaches First Warning Level in Bhadrachalam

The Godavari River in Bhadrachalam, a town in Telangana, India, got very high after heavy rains upstream.

The water reached 43 to 44 feet, which is the first level that tells people a flood might happen.

Because of this, officials warned everyone to stay away from the river and to be careful.

They also opened gates on a nearby dam to let some water out.

The river’s flow was huge, about 9.3 million cusecs, and many reservoirs in the state were already full, adding more water to the river.
