Godavari Near Third Warning Level, Mulugu on High Alert
The Godavari River in Mulugu district is getting very high because of heavy rain upstream.
At a place called Ramannagudem, the water is almost at the dangerous third warning level.
The district collector, Borkhade Hemant Sahadeva Rao, has put the area on high alert and told people to stay inside for a few days.
He also said that a big water project called Sammakka Sagar is getting a lot of floodwater and is letting it out through gates.
Officials are watching low‑lying villages, keeping night patrols, and readying evacuation centers with food, water, and medicine.

Godavari water level at Ramannagudem reached 75.47 ft, close to the third warning mark of 75.82 ft.

Sammakka Sagar Project at Tupakulagudem is receiving 14,03,500 cusecs of floodwater and discharging the same amount through spillway gates.
Officials are monitoring low‑lying areas, maintaining night patrols, and preparing evacuation centers with basic services.
Residents are advised to stay indoors for 2–3 days, avoid rivers, and use the 24‑hour helpline 1800‑425‑7109 for emergencies.
