Skill India Trains Over 5.35 Lakh Candidates in Andhra Pradesh
The Indian government helps people learn new skills for jobs.
This programme is called Skill India.
In Andhra Pradesh, one of India's states, more than 5.35 lakh people have learned new skills.
A lakh is a big number that means one hundred thousand.
More than 4 lakh of those people got certificates to show they finished their training.
The government also helped about 93,000 young people work as apprentices.
An apprentice learns a skill by working with experienced people.
The government shared these numbers with the Lok Sabha, a part of India's parliament.
The training programme started in 2022-23 and is still running.
Even after apprentices finish their training, their employers are not forced to give them jobs.
More than 5.35 lakh candidates have been trained under PMKVY 4.0 in Andhra Pradesh, with 4.28 lakh certified.
A total of 93,094 apprentices have been engaged under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme-2 (NAPS-2) in the state.
The figures were provided by the Union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship in the Lok Sabha.
The Skill India programme, implemented since 2022-23, comprises PMKVY 4.0, NAPS-2 and the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) scheme.
Employers are not mandated to offer jobs to apprentices after the completion of their training.
