Revanth Reddy Sets Deadlines for MKLI Lift Scheme
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed development work in Kodangal.
A large lift irrigation project has two stages.
The first stage is expected to finish by December 2027.
The second stage is expected to finish by October 2028.
Officials were told to invite bids for the second stage quickly.
They were also asked to plan the project’s yearly funding needs.
The Chief Minister checked schools, colleges, a hospital and other buildings at the Hakimpet Education Hub.
He asked officials to improve roads to every tribal habitation and build bridges where needed.
He also suggested collecting rainwater at the education hub for landscaping and other uses.
Phase I of the Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project is targeted for completion by December 2027.
Phase II is scheduled for completion by October 2028, with officials instructed to invite tenders immediately.
Officials must provide annual budget requirements and plans to secure adequate funding for faster execution.
Revanth Reddy reviewed construction at the Hakimpet Education Hub, including a 430-bed hospital and educational institutions.
Officials were directed to improve all-weather roads to tribal habitations and coordinate infrastructure, bridge and rainwater-conservation works.
