Majhi to hoist tricolour at Bhubaneswar Independence Day celebrations

Every year on August 15, India celebrates Independence Day.

On this day, people remember when the country became free.

Important leaders usually raise the national flag at big ceremonies.

In the state of Odisha, the Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, will raise the flag in the capital city, Bhubaneswar.

He will also take the salute at the parade.

The flag is called the tricolour because it has three colours.

Other leaders, like the two deputy chief ministers, will raise flags in different towns.

Every minister in the government has been given a different place to visit.

Officials called collectors will lead celebrations in many districts.

This way, people all over the state can celebrate together on the same day.
