Four government medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh have received special cancer-treatment machines called LINACs.

The machines are in Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa and Gwalior.

Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal was supposed to receive one too, but funding was not available.

Special bunkers were built to protect people from radiation.

The machines arrived in parts and must be assembled and tested.

One doctor said this could take about six more months.

Each machine costs Rs 46.7 crore.

Once working, the machines will let more cancer patients receive advanced radiation treatment at government hospitals instead of going to private hospitals.
