Himachal to spend Rs 3,000 crore on improving health facilities
The government of Himachal Pradesh is spending a huge amount of money, about Rs 3,000 crore, to make hospitals in the state better.
A big part of this plan is buying new machines to replace very old ones that are 15 to 20 years old.
New machines like X-ray, mammography, ECG and special surgery equipment will be brought in.
A special group called HPMSCL will help buy and send medicines and machines to government hospitals and medical colleges.
The Health Minister, Dhani Ram Shandil, shared this news at a meeting in Shimla.
He said the new buying process is faster, cheaper and more transparent than the old one.
This will help more people get advanced and quality healthcare close to where they live.
The state is also working to make diagnostic services stronger by quickly installing new machines and medicines.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dhani Ram Shandil announced this while chairing the 7th Board of Directors' meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Medical Services Corporation Limited (HPMSCL).
HPMSCL purchases and distributes medicines, medical equipment, surgical items and other supplies for government hospitals and medical colleges.
Machines and equipment that are 15 to 20 years old will be replaced in a phased manner.
New equipment includes PET scan, colour Doppler, digital X-ray, mammography, laparoscopic surgery equipment, DSA machines, blood separators, advanced echocardiography and ECG machines, and cath lab equipment.
