Medical equipment worth crores found unused at Delhi government hospitals

The Delhi High Court is like a very important judge's office.

It learned that some government hospitals in Delhi had expensive machines that were not being used.

The court asked all government hospitals to check their equipment and report back.

The check found machines worth crores of rupees, which is a huge amount of money, just sitting unused.

One very costly machine, called a cyclotron, helps take pictures inside the body to find cancer.

It has not been used since April 2022 because there are not enough trained people to run it.

Hospitals gave different reasons, like not enough workers, no special doctors, or no space to set up the machines.

The court said this is a big waste of people's money.

The government has to explain what happened and find a way to fix it.
