Shah Says Nehru Laid Narmada Foundation, Modi Opened Gates

Amit Shah spoke about Gujarat’s long effort to bring water to more areas.

He said Jawaharlal Nehru laid the Narmada project’s foundation stone in 1964.

Shah said its gates were opened after Narendra Modi became prime minister.

Narmada water was later taken to parts of Saurashtra and Kutch.

He also discussed canals, dams, lakes, check dams and modern irrigation.

Shah said these efforts helped reduce drought conditions in Gujarat.

He was speaking at the opening of a new lake called Gujarat Gaurav Sarovar.

The lake was built to store water and help raise groundwater levels.

Shah encouraged people and organizations to work together to conserve water.
