Chandrababu Naidu Directs Water Management to Prioritise Drinking Water
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh had a big meeting about water.

He told the people in charge of water to follow a special plan called the Water Movement Plan.
The plan says that drinking water for people in cities and villages comes first.
There has not been enough rain this year, so saving water is very important.
A huge dam called the Polavaram project is almost finished, with about 90 out of 100 parts done.

Mr. Naidu wants the left water canal to reach Visakhapatnam by next March.
He also said computer data centres will only need a small amount of water, about 3.5 tmc ft.
He asked farmers not to grow six crops that use too much water this season.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to manage water resources under the Water Movement Plan, prioritising drinking water in urban and rural areas amid deficient rainfall.
Officials reported 89.9 per cent completion of Polavaram project civil works, which continued without disruption despite a flood discharge of about 14 lakh cusecs in the Godavari.
Naidu set March next year as the deadline to complete balance left canal works up to Visakhapatnam, with both canals designed to handle a flow of 17,500 cusecs.
Naidu said data centres would require only 3.5 tmc ft of water and accused some people of spreading misinformation on the issue.
He ordered completion of the Veligonda project, monthly targets for 36 priority projects, and a study on supplying irrigation water to the ayacut downstream of the Annamayya project.
