Telangana Releases Housing Funds After Centre Delays Support
Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy raps Centre over Indiramma Housing funds · thehansindia.com

Telangana has a housing program to help poor people build homes.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the state had been waiting for money from the central government.

He said no central funds had arrived for rural houses despite many requests.

Because of this, the state had delayed some final payments to people who finished their homes.

The minister said poor families should not have to keep waiting.

Telangana has now set aside Rs 185 crore for 15,475 beneficiaries.

People who finished eligible homes by March 31 were scheduled to receive their final payments on Thursday.

Other beneficiaries will be paid in stages.

The state says it will continue the housing program even without central assistance.
