Ratlam Collector Orders Immediate Update of Missing Revenue Cases

Governments sometimes track court cases using computers and the internet.

In Ratlam district, in Madhya Pradesh, India, there is an online system called RCMS for registering court cases.

A very large number of cases, 6,869 of them, were never entered into this online system.

A new leader called the Collector, named Ajay Katesariya, found this problem while checking how the government office works.

The government had already told officials to put cases online, starting in 2016 and again in 2020.

When cases are missing from the system, it is hard to follow what is happening in the courts.

It can also mean court hearings do not happen on time.

The Collector asked officials to fix this problem right away.

Now officials must update all the missing cases online so people can track them.

This helps the government office run more transparently, without so much paper.
