Madhya Pradesh PHQ Plans Portal to Track 4,000 Court Cases

The police headquarters in Madhya Pradesh, a state in India, has to keep track of a very large number of court cases.

Every day, they prepare papers for more than 50 cases.

Sometimes they miss deadlines, and the court gets upset with them.

When that happens, the court can send a notice called a contempt of court notice.

Right now, about 4,000 cases are being heard in courts across the state.

In about 200 of those cases, the police department got in trouble for not replying on time.

To fix this problem, the police want to build a special website that works like a big reminder calendar.

The website will tell them when the next court hearing is so they do not forget.

Another government department is helping them build it.

This way, the police can reply to the court on time and stay out of trouble.
