UP Revenue Courts Clear 10.96 Lakh Mutation Cases in Special Drives
There is a court in a big state in India called Uttar Pradesh that handles rules about land and property.
A long time ago, this court had many old cases that were waiting to be solved.
Some cases were about measuring land, some about changing names on land papers, and some about changing how land is used.
The state government wanted to solve these old cases faster, so they ran a special program called a drive.
During this drive, workers solved thousands of cases very quickly.
More than ten lakh cases about changing names on land papers were solved in just a few months.
Now, only a very small number of really old cases are still waiting.
This helps people get fair and quicker answers about their land.
The leader of the state wants the land system to be fast, fair, and easy for everyone.
Uttar Pradesh revenue courts disposed of 10,96,814 mutation cases under Section 34 between January 1 and July 31, 2026.
A special drive from June 15-25, 2026 cleared 2,21,667 mutation cases that had been pending for more than 45 days.
Under Section 24 (demarcation/measurement), 39,645 cases were disposed of, with 80,383 still pending.
Under Section 80 (change in land use), 49,855 cases were disposed of, leaving zero cases pending for more than five years.
Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Lucknow, Amethi and Mathura have the highest number of pending Section 24 cases.
Only 24 Section 24 cases pending in Uttar Pradesh revenue courts are more than five years old.
