4 Haryana Candidates in Judicial Custody Over Modified Devices Cheating
Some people wanted jobs at a university.
They had to take a test to work as helpers and guards.
Four people from Haryana tried to cheat on the test.
They hid special tiny machines in their clothes and ears.
The machines could take pictures of the test questions.
People outside the test room could then help them with answers.
The machines were so small that they had no screens or keyboards.
Teachers noticed one person moving in a strange way during the test.
Police came and arrested the four people.
Now the four people are in jail for two weeks while police keep investigating.
Four candidates from Haryana were sent to 14 days of judicial custody on Friday over an alleged cheating attempt in an examination at Central Sanskrit University.
Powai police seized seven highly modified mobile devices with no screens, keyboards or casings from the accused.
The concealed setup included nano Bluetooth earbuds inserted into the ear canal and a shirt-button-sized micro-camera to relay question paper images to outside accomplices.
The August 9 exam for multi-tasking staff (Group D) posts was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya in IIT-Powai, Mumbai.
Police said no paper leak occurred and are tracing the device suppliers and a possible wider network after three unidentified persons abandoned similar devices outside the examination hall.
