Professor, Five Students Arrested in Chhattisgarh Agriculture Paper Leak
Police in Chhattisgarh arrested a professor and five students over an alleged exam-paper leak.
The paper was for a second-year B.Sc.
Agriculture Entomology examination.
Police said the professor took a sealed paper packet home instead of giving it directly to his college.
He allegedly made a tiny hole with a needle and inserted a small camera to see the questions.
He then wrote down some questions and allegedly sold them for ₹11,000.
The questions were shared with other students through phones and WhatsApp.
Because the questions were circulating before the test, the university cancelled the examination.
About 1,200 students at 28 colleges were affected, and another test was announced.
Police are still investigating other possible participants and whether another paper was also compromised.
Police arrested Professor Yogesh Sonkesariya and five students over the alleged leak of an Entomology paper for Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya’s B.Sc. Agriculture examination.
Police said Sonkesariya used a needle and miniature endoscopic camera to view and record questions inside a sealed envelope, then reconstructed about 15 questions.
The reconstructed paper was allegedly sold for ₹11,000 and passed among students through WhatsApp and other digital networks.
The August 20 examination was cancelled, affecting about 1,200 students across 28 affiliated colleges; a re-examination was announced for the first week of September.
Police seized cash, phones, recording equipment and other materials, while two additional suspects remained absconding and the university introduced OTP-protected digital delivery.
