Haryana CM transfers Rs 1,595 crore to 50 lakh beneficiaries
The leader of a place called Haryana in India gave a lot of money to people who needed help.
Instead of handing out cash, the money was put straight into people's bank accounts.
This way, the money goes directly to the right people and nothing gets lost along the way.
More than 50 lakh families, which is around five million, received money.
Many women got financial help through a special program called the Lado Lakshmi Yojana.
Older people and people with disabilities also received money through pension plans.
The government said even more families will be able to join the program in the future because the income limit is going up.
A new app will help people sign up, and people can now get benefits without visiting government offices.
The leader promised that getting this help will not take away any other benefits a family receives.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini transferred over Rs 1,595 crore directly into the bank accounts of 50,04,873 beneficiaries under various welfare schemes through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The 10th instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana transferred Rs 209.62 crore to 9,98,000 women, bringing the total provided under the scheme to Rs 2,042.31 crore.
The annual income limit for the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana will increase from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh, with Rs 6,500 crore allocated in the current financial year's Budget.
An amount of Rs 1,124.94 crore was transferred to 34,93,978 beneficiaries under 15 Social Security Pension schemes, including Old Age Samman Allowance and Disability Allowance.
Financial assistance of Rs 234.77 crore was provided to 6,224 families under the Dayalu Yojana, taking the scheme's total so far to Rs 3,152.48 crore for 83,536 families.
The government adopted a 'pro-active model' that automatically determines eligibility using the Parivar Pehchan Patra database, allowing citizens to receive benefits at home without visiting offices.
