Delhi Lakshmi Yojana registration to continue till 17 lakh target
The Delhi government has a plan called the Lakshmi Yojana to help women.
Every month, eligible women will get Rs 2,500.
Women must be between 21 and 60 years old and live in Delhi.
Women with more than three children, or whose homes use too much electricity, cannot get the money.
The scheme started on August 1.
Delhi's leader, Rekha Gupta, says more than five lakh women have already signed up.
The government wants to help 17 lakh women, so it will keep accepting registrations until that number is reached.
The first payment will probably come around Raksha Bandhan, a festival on August 28.
Some leaders from the AAP party have questions about how women can sign up.
The Chief Minister also talked about a similar scheme in Punjab and said its money was stopped by a court.

The scheme provides monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women aged 21-60, excluding those with more than three children or annual household power consumption above 2,400 units.
Around 5.92 lakh registrations were completed in the first 10 days since the scheme launched on August 1.
The first instalment is likely to be released around Raksha Bandhan, celebrated on August 28.
AAP leaders raised concerns about the application process and eligibility criteria, including 10 years of Delhi residency and a recommendation from the local MP or MLA.
