The Delhi government is giving money to women through a new program called the Delhi Laxmi Yojana.

Women who are eligible can get Rs 2,500 every month.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the program during a meeting in the Delhi Assembly.

Minister Ashish Sood said the money will help women become more independent and improve their lives.

But not everyone was at the meeting — lawmakers from the AAP party stayed away on purpose.

Sood said AAP had promised women in Punjab money in 2022 but never gave it to them.

Women can register for the program since June 1, and the first payment will be sent on August 28.

The government plans to spend Rs 5,100 crore on this program in its first year.

Leaders from the BJP party said the program shows that the government cares about and respects women.
