Lucknow achieves 100% scientific waste processing

The city has three waste processing plants with a total capacity of 2,100 metric tonnes per day.
Waste is segregated into organic (55%) and inorganic (45%) fractions, with organic waste turned into compost and biogas, and inorganic waste converted into Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).
Door-to-door waste collection efficiency has improved to 96.53%, and source segregation levels are above 70%.
The city has processed around 12.86 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste, with by-products like RDF, bio-soil, and construction and demolition waste being repurposed for various uses.
