Uttar Pradesh Urban Toilet Construction Surpasses Nine Lakh Under Mission
Uttar Pradesh is building more toilets in its cities.
The work is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban.
The state says it has now built 9,00,113 household toilets.
This is much higher than the 3,09,924 built by 2017-18.
Public places have also received more than 10,000 community and public toilets and urinal blocks.
These facilities provide more than 70,000 toilet seats.
Since 2024-25, another 2,623 public toilet seats and 1,104 urinal seats have been added.
The government says its goal is to give eligible families safe, clean, and dignified sanitation.
Uttar Pradesh has constructed 9,00,113 Individual Household Latrines in urban areas under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban.
The total rose from 3,09,924 toilets through 2017-18 to 7,58,949 by 2018-19.
Nearly 5.90 lakh additional household toilets have been built since 2017-18.
More than 10,000 community and public toilets and urinal blocks have created over 70,000 seats.
