Four Arrested in Mathura Showroom Theft; Gold Recovered
Police arrested four people after jewellery and cash were stolen from a showroom in Mathura.
The theft happened on Sunday.
One arrested person had worked at the showroom before.
Police said he knew where the safe and cupboard keys were kept.
They said the group entered through the roof after cutting an iron grille.
A gas cutter was allegedly used to open a door lock.
Police said they recovered 7.12 kilograms of gold jewellery and Rs 11 lakh in cash.
The police said this was the entire stolen amount, although the FIR had reported higher figures.
Investigators also recovered tools and CCTV footage linked to the case.
Police arrested four people, including former employee Vishnu alias Pappu Soni, over Sunday’s theft in Kosikalan, Mathura.
The other accused were Pappu’s brother Mohan and two women, police said.
Police said they recovered 7.12 kilograms of gold jewellery worth about Rs 12 crore and Rs 11 lakh in cash.
The FIR initially reported approximately 10 kilograms of gold ornaments and Rs 15 lakh cash stolen.
Recovered items included a locker key, cutting tools, clothing, a bag and the showroom’s CCTV DVR.
