Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 55 Lakh Stolen From Thrissur House
Gold jewelry was stolen from a house in Thrissur.
The jewelry was worth about Rs 55 lakh.
It belonged to a family whose home was in Thaloor near Peramangalam.
The family had been at their textile shop because of the busy Onam season.
When they returned, they found the back door open.
Jewelry stored in an upstairs bedroom was missing.
The gold had been bought for the daughter’s upcoming marriage.
Police are checking CCTV footage and asking neighbours about unfamiliar people.

The ornaments weighed 47 sovereigns and included chains, necklaces, anklets, bracelets, bangles and rings.
The house belonged to 55-year-old textile shop owner Shakeer and his family.
The family was away at their shop until around 1.15 am due to the Onam rush.
Police found the back door open and are examining CCTV footage and questioning neighbours.
