Manipur Security Forces Arrest Seven Militants, Seize Arms and Drugs

Security forces in Manipur arrested seven people accused of belonging to banned militant groups.

One of those arrested was a woman.

The arrests happened in several districts during joint operations by police and other security forces.

Officials said the suspects were linked to crimes such as attacks, kidnappings, extortion and recruiting young people.

In a separate operation, authorities found guns, grenades, explosives and ammunition.

Police also arrested two people accused of selling drugs.

About 53 grams of heroin were reportedly found with them.

Security forces are continuing searches and checking vehicles across the state.

They are also protecting trucks and other vehicles traveling on an important highway.
