Four militants of banned outfits arrested in Manipur
In a place called Manipur, police officers arrested four people.
The police say these people belong to groups that the government has banned.
The police think they were asking people for money by threatening them, which is called extortion.
The arrests happened on a Friday.
Three of the arrested people belong to a group called SOREPA.
One of them belongs to a group called the People's Liberation Army, or PLA.
The police also found a hand grenade and some empty rifle parts at one person's home.
The police told everyone about the arrests on Saturday.
The arrested people are now with the police, and the case is being investigated.
Four militants from two banned outfits were arrested on Friday for alleged involvement in extortion, police said on Saturday.
Two SOREPA cadres, Mayanglambam Nimaichand (25) and Mayanglambam Khoiraba (27), were arrested in Kakching district.
Another SOREPA cadre, Md Majahar Ali (52), was apprehended from the Checkon area of Imphal East district.
PLA cadre Pheiroijam Karanjoy Singh (25) was arrested from Seijang Awang in Imphal East district.
A hand grenade, an empty INSAS rifle magazine and three empty rifle cartridge cases were seized from his residence.
